HOW TO MEASURE FOR YOUR BRIDLE
HEADPIECE – These measurements are from one split over the top of the horses head to the other split. The split needs to be ¾” below the base of the ear to ensure that the headpiece is large enough.
BROWBAND – The measurements are from the end of one loop to the end of the other loop which clips the browband onto the headpiece. It is important that the browband is not to tight
CHEEKPIECE – The measurement is for the leather part only as if it is already made up and attached to the bit. The buckles of the cheek piece should be no higher than the corner of the eye as per our picture, this is to avoid the sensitive TMJ area.
NOSEBAND ( Cavesson ) The measurement is all the way round the horses nose. The nose band needs to sit 2 fingers width below the horses main facial cheek bone as per our picture. Please ensure that you are able to get 2 fingers under the noseband when fastened to obtain a correct fit.
THROATLASH – This sits just above the cheekpiece of both sides of the bridle. The measurement is around the horses jaw.
